Central Luzon is known as the rice granary of the Philippines, but it has much more to offer than endless plains of rice fields. Beautiful beaches, sparkling waterfalls, and a marvelously wild and rugged coastline exist.
Central Luzon is just north of Manila. It has a lot of different people and cultures living in its different landscapes. Each of the seven districts that make up Central Luzon has its look, feel, and identity.
This lovely part of the Philippines is worth visiting if you get the chance. There are many beautiful old colonial architecture to see, delicious local food to try, and fun festivals to join in on.
Ditumabo Mother Falls
Ditumabo Falls pours down from up high in a majestic way. The contrast between the bright white water and the lush green of the rainforest on either side is stunning. The beautiful waterfall is Mother Falls because it is the biggest and most impressive in the area.
Even though the waterfall is only about 15 meters high, it is in a beautiful setting that creates a large place to spend some time, though it can get busy on the weekends. After walking through the forest for one hour to get to the falls, there’s nothing better than swimming in the clear pool at the base and taking in the beautiful scenery around you.
Minalungao National Park
Minalungao National Park was made in 1967 to protect the beautiful Penaranda River and its surrounding area. It is home to some of the beautiful and untouched nature in Central Luzon. Since the local government promotes it as an ecotourism spot, it shouldn’t be surprising that the national park has a lot of great outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing, and ziplining.
You can also swim or kayak in the river, or if you’re feeling brave, you can go rafting or jump off a cliff. It has a lot of outdoor activities that will keep you busy for days, and the scenery is just as interesting. The emerald waters of the stream are beautifully framed by shining limestone formations that rise above it.
Magalawa Island
Magalawa Island is great if you want to get away from it all. It is just off the west of Central Luzon and is surrounded by the sparkling waters of the China Sea. Magalawa is a very pretty place. It has beautiful white sand beaches and palm trees that sway in the breeze everywhere you look. Nothing is best than spending the whole day on the beach and enjoying the beautiful views.
The island habitat is still very natural because it hasn’t changed much. So, it’s a great location for people who love nature, and rafting and snorkeling are great for people who love being outside. In addition, you have to take a boat ride all around the island and the water around it. This is especially magical as the sun goes down and the waves sparkle and shine in front of your eyes.
Monasterio de Tarlac
This amazing monastery is a very popular spot for both locals and tourists. It is on top of the appropriately named Mount Resurrection. The most impressive thing there is, without a doubt, the statue of Jesus Christ. At the Monasterio de Tarlac, Christ’s outstretched arms, which reach up to 30 feet, welcome people.
You can look great at the beautiful Zambales Mountain Range from the church’s peaceful gardens. Many people see the monastery’s beautiful setting and statue, but inside is a very important relic that is thought to be a piece of the Cross on which Christ was crucified.
Even though the piece of the True Cross isn’t very interesting to look at, many pilgrims come to this holy site to honor it. The monastery is on top of a quiet mountain, which makes it a great place for some quiet thinking.
Corregidor Island
Corregidor Island is a great place to go if you are in Central Luzon. It has a lot of interesting historical sites to see and a lot of great hiking and biking trails through the trees and along the coast. Corregidor has been fortified for a long time because it is in a good spot at the entry to Manila Bay.
People now see Fort Mills and the different anti-aircraft artillery batteries built to protect the Philippines’ capital during the Second World War. Corregidor Island is one of the country’s most popular places for tourists to visit because of its crumbling fortifications, memorial services, and World War II sites. However, the island’s beautiful scenery is also worth seeing.
Pilar
Even though the town of Pilar doesn’t have much to see, there are some interesting historical sites to check out. The municipality is close to both Bataan National Park and Mount Mariveles, both amazing natural places.
The Mount Samat National Shrine is the main thing to see in Pilar. It was built to honor and recollect the brave Filipino and American soldiers who participated in the Second World War. The huge Cross is very impressive to look at.
Aside from that, the Flaming Sword sanctuary and Our Lady of the Pilar Parish Church are the most interesting places to visit. The little fishing villages and ports along the coast are also worth a visit because they are very picturesque and have a laid-back vibe.
Baler
The small town of Baler is surrounded by beautiful palm trees and has majesty mountains in the distance. It’s a very laid-back place to visit, and the scenery is breathtaking. Baler is known for its white sand oceanfront and surfing spots in the famous movie Apocalypse Now. The town is truly blessed with a beautiful setting.
If you want to go on an adventure, there are some beautiful beaches and waterfalls in the area. Even though the town was founded in 1609, there are no historical or cultural sites to visit. Most people come to chill out on the beach or enjoy the beach all day in the sun. It’s the perfect place for people who love the sun and the beach.
