Although games like PUBG are very popular in the battle royale genre, some other strong contenders are making their efforts to cross PUBG. Garena Free Fire is one such title that competes against PUBG mobile.
Free Fire was first released in 2017, but it wasn’t until 2019 that it started to make it into the news. Since 2019, it has been on the list of top ten games and the list of most downloaded games. You can quickly become a master gunslinger in Free Fire with these tips and tricks.
1. Change Controls
There is no need to stick with default controls in Free Fire as the game provides you with options to change them according to your needs. After getting familiar with the mechanics of the game, adjusting controls should be your first priority.
There is no need to rush in this regard, and you should take your time. You can change the size of the buttons as well as the location of these buttons according to the gameplay style.
2. Don’t Rush
Free Fire is all about killing players with guns, and you may want to rush on players after landing on the ground. But this isn’t the way to make it to the end. You need to stay alive till the end, which requires you to get passive instead.
Camp and wait for players to fall into your trap so you can shoot them. You can win the game by killing the last alive player. Stay inside the safe zone and don’t engage in unnecessary fights unless you are sure that you can kill the enemy.
3. Learn about characters and their skills
You have to choose a character before setting foot on the battlefield, and you can choose from a variety of different options. Unlike PUBG, each character has special abilities.
You should choose and unlock characters based on their abilities. Some characters are demolition experts, while other characters can run pretty fast. After selecting the desired character, upgrade them to boost their special abilities.
4. Switch Locations
Camping is beneficial but not in every situation, and you should adapt according to the situation. Switch locations from time to time, especially toward the end of the game, because most players opt for camping at this point.
Recover your health, reload your weapon, and search for loot in the current building. Before exiting the building, check the surroundings for enemies. There is no need for you to stay in the open for too long, so get a building instead, as it makes it difficult for enemies to shoot you in the cover.

5. Go for the high ground
No matter whether you are a camper who waits in hiding for the end of a fighter, you should try to get the high ground in Free Fire. You can take better shots from high ground and kill enemies before they even know where the shot is coming from. Moreover, you can quickly take cover at a high ground if the enemy fires back at you.
6. Fill the EP bar
EP bar can be found right above the health bar in the Free Fire interface. It stands for extra health that will automatically add up to the default health bar if it drops down. You can fill the EP bar with in-game items.
With a fully filled EP bar, you can save health kits for the long run. The health bar will automatically get full in case a few points of health drops down from a fall or stuff like that.
7. Avoid looting in Open
After killing a player, the first thing you will want to do is to get his or he loot. This sounds really cool, but it puts your life in great danger. When you fire shots, it alerts other players, and they will have an idea about your presence.
While you kill the enemy, other enemies will be searching for you and trying to kill you. By looting in the open, you will be providing enemies with a free kill. Miss a loot if you have to, but don’t stay in the open for too long.
8. Use Gloo Walls
Gloo walls are made up of snow, and they protect you from enemy bullets for a short time. After deploying a gloo wall, you will have enough time to decide your move and act accordingly. Gloo wall is just like a shield, and it will get damaged by bullets, so you have to act fast before the enemy can penetrate it.
Gloo wall is available for all the game modes in Free Fire, but you have to practice deploying them at the right time. If you deploy them late, the enemy will kill you. Don’t wait for the gloo wall to get destroyed and get out of there.
9. Don’t run in a straight line
Running in a straight line is like giving enemies a free kill, as they don’t have to aim carefully. If you are in the open, move in a random manner to make it difficult for enemies to shoot you. Practice shooting enemies while moving to get rid of enemies. Practice is very important in Free Fire, and you can become a master in no time.
10. Fire when the cross-hair is red
There is a special reason that makes the cross-hair glow up. When you aim at an enemy, the cross hair will light up, indicating that you should shoot him or her. When the cross is red, your task is to hit the trigger, and the bullet will surely hit the enemy to deal damage.
If you are good at aiming with sights, go for headshots. If the enemy is in the open and there is no cover nearby, you can land some body shots from a distance to drain their health.
